Why 321 Wellness Exists: The Journey to Building Something Different

When I started 321 Wellness, it wasn’t just about opening a gym—it was about creating a space where fitness and recovery worked hand-in-hand. I wanted to go beyond the traditional idea of a gym and build a place where people could genuinely transform their lives, inside and out. Today, I’m sharing the story behind how 321 Wellness came to life and why it’s so close to my heart.

Finding My Why: From Gym Management to a Bigger Vision

For three years, I ran a gym for someone else. I loved it—coaching clients, seeing progress, and celebrating wins. But over time, I realized there was more I wanted to offer. I didn’t just want to focus on fitness; I wanted to create something that recognized the whole picture of health.

When I stepped away in 2017, I thought my next chapter might look completely different. I decided to focus on recovery, enrolling in massage school to dive into mobility and healing. It was eye-opening. I saw how essential recovery was to sustainable health. But even as I learned, something felt incomplete.

I missed coaching. I missed the energy of a supportive community. And I missed helping people push past their limits. That’s when it hit me: Why not combine these worlds?

The Missing Link in Well

I’ve always believed fitness is more than just a workout. For many people—especially women—health can feel like a luxury or even an afterthought. But as we age, it’s not just about looking good; it’s about functionality. Can you keep up with your kids? Can you protect your body from injury? Can you stay independent? These questions pushed me to think differently about health and how I could help others prioritize it.

In particular, I wanted to help women see the value of strength training. I wanted to break through the myths that weightlifting is “too intense” or “not for everyone.” The truth is, muscle is essential—it’s the armor that protects us as we age. And for women, building muscle isn’t just harder; it’s also more crucial for long-term health.

Why 321 Wellness Was the Answer

When I opened 321 Wellness in 2019, I knew I didn’t want it to be just another gym. I wanted it to be a place where fitness and recovery weren’t separate silos but complementary tools. At 321, you can crush a workout, stretch your limits, and then shift gears to focus on recovery through massage, sauna sessions, and mobility work.

This blend was intentional. Health isn’t just about moving your body; it’s about taking care of it afterward so you can keep going. Whether it’s CrossFit, personal training, or recovery practices, 321 Wellness is built to help people thrive in all aspects of health.

Movement: The Mental and Physical Game-Changer

One thing I’ve grown to appreciate over the years is the mental transformation that comes with physical fitness. Early in my journey, I thought it was just about strength and endurance—being able to keep up with my kids or tackle daily tasks. But I’ve since realized fitness is also one of the most powerful ways to build mental resilience.

In today’s fast-paced, hyper-connected world, we rarely have the chance to slow down and focus on one thing. But fitness, especially something like CrossFit, gives you that rare gift. When you’re mid-workout, there’s no room for distractions. You’re present, focused, and completely in the moment. That mental clarity—plus the satisfaction of finishing a tough session—carries over into every part of life.

The Bigger Picture

What makes 321 Wellness so special is its purpose: helping people show up for themselves. Self-care isn’t just about indulgence; it’s about the daily work—moving, eating well, recovering, and committing to the habits that truly improve your quality of life. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

When I stepped back from gym management and thought about my future, I knew I wanted to do more than help people lift weights or improve flexibility. I wanted to give them tools to live better—to be strong, resilient, and capable for their families, their careers, and themselves.
