HEALTH CORNER:

These are just some of the benefits that greens can have on your health.

Dietary fiber from leafy greens also helps with weight loss. It does this by providing a feeling of fullness while containing fewer calories. It has also been shown to lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Leafy greens are an excellent source of folate (folic acid), which helps the body form red blood cells. Leafy greens also contain water, which helps keep you hydrated and contributes to beautiful skin and hair. The vitamin E found in green leafy vegetables work with vitamin C to keep skin healthy as you age. This vitamin also helps protect your skin from the sun’s damaging rays and may help reduce your risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. Vitamin A keeps eyes and skin healthy and helps to protect against infections. Vitamin C works by helping to heal cuts and wounds and keeps  teeth and gums healthy. Vitamin C also aids in iron absorption.
